LIANS | “Get Cyber Safe” Resources and Virtual Workshops

Get Cyber Safe is the Government of Canada’s public awareness campaign on cyber security, created to inform Canadians about cyber security and the simple steps they can take to protect themselves online. It also includes their “Get Cyber Safe Guide for Small Business” pages, designed for small businesses:

that are looking for simple steps to keep their business safe online
that don’t have a dedicated Information Technology (IT) team
that use social media to promote their business and interact with clients
that use an e-commerce platform to makes sales

They will also host two workshops in October:

Discover Online Safety – Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 1 p.m. EDT
Designed for individuals with beginner technical knowledge, this workshop will help equip you with the information and tools to:

create strong passwords and passphrases
download apps safely
help you avoid online scams

Navigating Online Privacy and Security – Monday, October 21, 2024, 2:30 p.m. EDT
Designed for individuals with beginner to intermediate technical knowledge, this workshop looks at how to keep your devices and your personal life secure online. Topics will include how to:

secure your accounts and devices
keep your devices safe from malware
prevent and deal with cyberstalking
