Members sometimes ask us about practice management software, what should lawyers look for or whether we endorse a particular product. We do not endorse any product nor do we comment on features of products that are available.

We know it is challenging for sole practitioners and small firms to review these programs to determine what they are actually getting versus what you think you are getting. On this, our friends in Manitoba published an article in 2020 that might provide some assistance. See What is Practice Management Software and Do I Need It? published in The Law Society of Manitoba’s February 2020 edition of Communiqué.

From that article, you should look for vendors that will give you access to training videos and seminars before you buy and seriously work a demo for at least two weeks. Buying the wrong software could end up costing you time, money and aggravation.
